GLA Chairman met with the CEO of sectoral organization British "Skills for Logistics"

On 28 September, in Bristol (UK) the Chairman of the Georgian Logistics Association Giorgi Doborjginidze met with David Coombes, CEO of “Skills for Logistics”, the British skills organization in transportation and logistics. The main objective of the meeting was to share experiences about vocational education and training (VET) in the British logistics sector and explore opportunities for future cooperation between the two organizations.

 

“Skills for Logistics” is the largest sector specialist in the UK focusing on the development of vocational standards and the organization of logistics apprenticeship assessments in transport and logistics. Besides, “Skills for Logistics” is one of the largest providers of short certification courses and training in the industry.

 

The meeting of Giorgi Doborjginidze and David Coombes was held during the visit of Georgian sectoral associations in the UK. The visit was supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). The purpose of the journey was to share the best practices in the development of VET in the UK and the involvement of sectoral organizations in this process.
